A historian of Brazilian labor and working-class culture after World War II, Paulo Fontes is a professor at the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro and the author of several articles and books on these topics. At Radcliffe, he will finish his new book on class and race relations in Brazil, focusing on Afro-Brazilian labor leaders between the 1940 and 1970s.
