Jonathan Sterne

Trained in cultural studies, media studies, and historiography, Jonathan Sterne is the author of three monographs and dozens of essays that span topics in sound, media, technology, and disability. At Radcliffe, he is writing a book on sound and artificial intelligence that draws on examples across voice, environmental sound, and music to analyze the power relationships and values built into new systems for automated listening, sensing, and sound generation.
