Jennifer S. Hirsch is a medical anthropologist whose research examines gender, sexuality, and health. At Radcliffe, she will write a book, based on data collected among Orthodox Jews in New York City, analyzing constrained marital, sexual, and reproductive self-determination in relation to historical trauma, social inequality, compulsory heterosexuality, and public institutions’ accountability.
