Imagination’s End: A Script for the Grenada Revolution

Fellow: Santiago Mostyn

Subjects: Film/ visual art/ literature/ cultural history

This project will focus on the development of a film script based on the Grenada Revolution (1979–1983). The work draws on personal narratives and public records to imagine key events within the revolution from the perspectives of the leading participants. The process will involve archival research, both locally and online, helping to synthesize this information into a draft of a script, and finally setting up and filming studio tests of some of the dialogue-rich scenes.

This is a good opportunity for detail-oriented research partners with an interest in Afro-Caribbean histories, visual art, and writing for the screen or stage to get involved in a small-scale production from start to finish. The project offers the chance to work collaboratively, gain experience in visual storytelling, and contribute to the development of an artistic project about a unique revolutionary history.
