On Radcliffe Day, alumnae/i, fellows, and friends gather with the greater Harvard University community to honor Radcliffe’s past and celebrate its future. Traditionally held on the day after Harvard’s commencement, Radcliffe Day begins with a commemorative service and a symposium featuring outstanding Radcliffe-Harvard alumnae and culminates in the Annual Luncheon, which includes the presentation of the Radcliffe Institute Medal to an individual who has made a significant impact on society.
Established in 1999, the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study at Harvard University is a scholarly community where individuals pursue advanced work across a wide range of academic disciplines, professions, and creative arts. Within this broad purpose, the Radcliffe Institute sustains a continuing commitment to the study of women, gender, and society. The Institute advances its mission through its fellowship program, its academic engagement programs, and the Arthur and Elizabeth Schlesinger Library on the History of Women in America. In the fall of 2009, the Institute will begin a yearlong celebration of its tenth anniversary.
